Back!

Well here I am again!

Wow, it's actually been a year since the last post ... I guess time goes fast.
Sunrise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset. :P

Anyway, with the colder weather returning, I've been looking for something to do now that the evenings are longer and inside. And I've also felt the urge to go back to making up some tasty stuff. Because I do have to eat!

I have been very boring in terms of supper choices so I decided to go on the prowl for a new cookbook with lots of main meal ideas (I have plenty of dessert books) that would be of intermediary level. Something that is more involved then buying pre-mixed/packaged ingredients and throwing then together. No Mrs. Crocker, I do not consider spreading canned meat on a cracker a meaningful cooking experience. But I also didn't want high-grade fancy recipes. These are for everyday lunches/evenings.

I looked online and browsed the shelves of the local bookstore.

I wanted something with over 100 recipes, because I want lots of ideas. And preferably something with pictures to know what to strive for and realise my painful failures.

So, after lots of searching the winner was ...

Food Network Magazine Great Easy Meals: 250 Fun & Fast Recipes

The recipes are varied, but simple for the most part without being dummied down. There's lots of recipes I wanted to try in it and most of the ingredients are common or easy to find.

So soon, I'll start posting about my experiences. Triumphs and failures.

:)

Later!
